Wireframes is the first exhibit to track the art of architectural visualization since its inception. The exhibit presents a series of narratives, snapshots from the discipline’s vibrant history. With over 30 artists participating, Wireframes exhibits the infinite possibilities for creative visual communication. Artists include Squint,/Opera Hayes Davidson, dBox, Studio AMD, Neoscape, Mir, Luxigon, Alex Roman, and architect-turned-director, Joseph Kosinski.

The Wireframes exhibit was curated by A+D and a global team of visualization experts from KilographChaos GroupCGarchitect, and Gensler.

Immersive Landscape: Representation through Gaming Technology

Instructors

Eric de Broche des Combes

Course Description

The course is aimed at investigating new ways to interpret, conceive and describe landscape. While traditional methods of representation will prevail for some time, they make the cognitive process a one-way circumstance with an "emitter" and a "listener" that barely interact. Game technologies permit the creation of realistic, oniric, utopian as well as dystopian universes. It is possible to use, disregard, twist, bend or re-invent the laws of physics, the flow of time, the hazards of weather, the perception of depth, but most importantly, it permits absolute freedom.

Just as Rome wasn't built in a day, connections will need to be made through studies of landscape representation in the arts, movies and, not surprisingly, video games.

d2 Conference

A focus on architectural visualization

Organized by the visualization office BüroWHAT!, the d2 Conference is an event specifically designed for the ever-growing international architectural visualization community.

Now in its second year (previously known as symp.in), the d2 Conference aims to build on last year's success. With international visitors coming from over 15 countries, the d2 Conference is one of the most successful visualization events held in the Austrian capital. A fantastic line up of tutors and VIP designers will meet to share ideas, tips and tricks as well as discuss their professional experience in the field of visualization.

Representatives from the some of the most well-known software companies will also be on hand and will be giving demonstrations and workshops throughout both event days in our separate workshop area. Feel free to come by to see what the future of 3d software holds. Or just stop by to say hi and grab a sandwich and a coffee.

At the end of each day, relax at the venue for a couple of hours and have a beer. (It's on us!) You will have a chance to hang out and get to know some of the best artists in the visualization business. The speakers will also be around, so feel free to strike up a conversation.

Amazing speakers? Check! Fabulous venue? Check! Free beer and snacks? CHECK!
